The Art Farm

Ayhan's Art Farm is situated in a forest village near Catalca; a town within the rural district of Istanbul, Turkey.
The history of Catalca goes back to as early as BC 450 as an ancient Greek city, originally called as Ergiske (Εργίσκη), originated from the name Ergiscus, a son of Poseidon through the nymph Ava, who according to Greek mythology was the daughter of River Evros.
It's fascinating to still hear Greek is spoken on streets.
A typical day in the art farm begins with a good breakfast before commencing any activity. While the wood carving lessons are ongoing as scheduled, Ayhan makes sure he creates new works continually in his studio while lessons are being implemented in another workshop area.
Most participants of wood carving lessons have been attending the workshops for long enough that they became proficient in creating their own works. The inspiration and gaining skills go hand in hand in our art farm.
We provide all our participants guests with the state of the art tools, including a carving set, apron and personal protection equipment.
